GambleAware is delighted to announce the date for its 8th Annual Conference focusing on ‘Treatment of gambling harms: collaborating on a long-term plan’.

Save the date: Thursday, 28 January 2021

Time: 9:30 – 12:30 (GMT)

This year the conference will be held virtually and will report on recent developments in the treatment of gambling harms and explore priorities for the future. Alongside keynote presentations, we will be holding three sessions:

  • Developing care pathways
  • Innovations in treatment
  • Assuring delivery

Within these sessions the conference will be looking at the benefits of a multi-agency response and how this contributes both to the National Strategy for Reducing Gambling Harms and to the long-term planning of the National Health Service. Additionally, the conference will be an opportunity for speakers and participants to consider how gambling treatment issues need to be taken into account in the forthcoming review of the Gambling Act 2005 and in the development of an Addiction Strategy for the UK.

The three sessions will share several cross-cutting themes, such as:

  • The involvement of people with ‘lived experience’;
  • The importance of reducing inequalities; and
  • What has been learnt from the experience of planning and delivering services during a pandemic.

Further programme information and registration details will be shared in due course. For any questions, please contact the Events Team at events@gambleaware.org.
