Rachel Pearce is Director Commissioning Operations (South West – North), NHS England. As one of ten Directors Commissioning Operations operating nationally, Rachel provides strategic leadership and assurance to five Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and is responsible for a £1bn commissioning budget across directly commissioned services including: primary care (budget £800m); Armed Forces for England (budget £44m); and, Health and Justice for South of England (budget £122m). Alongside her NHS career, Rachel maintains a commitment to the non-statutory sector and has been a trustee for 13 years with charities providing drug and alcohol services and latterly mental health support, including serving as Vice Chair of the Gloucestershire-based charity The Independent Trust until 2014.
